CONCR3DE team up with renown architects like Zaha Hadid (ZHCode) and emergent designers to showcase the state of the art in digital design combined with the state of the art in digital manufacturing. Together we’re showing what we think is the future of fabrication in architecture and design.
The projects showcased explore the enormous potential of concr3de technology in different applications, the project is sponsored by concrete Valley. The designs are entirely fabricated by Armadillo, an industrial 3dprinter able to print massive stone structures in only 4 hours with a precision of 0,1 mm. The technology is a breakthrough in 3dprinting enabling unique, affordable, large scale and durable materials for design, construction and restoration.
The first project showcased is “Hortus Moduli”, a collaboration between Zaha Hadid Architects, ZH CODE, Giuseppe Fallacara (New Fundamentals Research Group) and Pi.Mar. It is developed for the for the Lithic Garden exhibition at Marmomac 2019. The project investigates the design of performative shell structures working predominantly in compression. The 3D printed model produced by Concr3de was fundamental to prototype the stereotomy and structural behaviour. The second structure showcased was designed by MAEID using generative algorithms inspired by marine ecosystems, the project would help to create new habitats and restore marine fragile environments. The project could only be realized using conc3de's unique technology.
