What if... we started developing the factory of the future today? The originally Dutch company Fokker Elmo is one of the world leaders in the development and production of electrical cabling in aircraft and aircraft engines. Most of the assembly work is still done manually by ‘shopfloor operators’, but Fokker Elmo is already taking steps to develop the factory of the future.

Courtesy of 2,600 (inter)national designers, Dutch Design Week (DDW) can be seen as the lab of the future showcasing vision in conceptual and technological innovation as well as in the renewal of crafts and systems. DDW was spread over 120 locations where 355.000 professionals, industry representatives, governments, visitors and journalists enjoyed 499 exhibitions, lectures, tours and labs.
