An exhibition about the diverse work of Floris Hovers

All week at Plan-B | Plan-B

As a designer and artist, Hovers takes you into his world of color, shape, proportion, playfulness, austerity and simplicity. His versatile work ranges from consumer products to unique works but always with the same mentality.
His products and autonomous work are strongly connected.

His designs emerge during the process of making them: in his spacious workshop he builds, constructs and explores his ideas within the third dimension. Surrounded by machines, materials and a wealth of trials and errors, bits and pieces, and ‘lost and found’.
A suitable environment is a natural growth process. My workshop contains attributes from all sorts of periods, it is an ongoing exhibition for myself. I believe that your environment will continue to spark you to do things in your own manner. Everything can play a role, I don’t rule anything. Out in advance. A hook to hang a model on as it is spray painted can be inspiration for a coat hanger.

Color and proportion plays a prominent role in his work. He wanders through all colours of the rainbow and his choices result in a very specific atmosphere. Playful, daring and surprising, yet sprung from a cherished past and therefore connecting with a large audience.

Floris Hovers

Floris Hovers (1976) was born and raised in the Dutch Raamsdonksveer in the province of Brabant. This is where he still lives and works. The environment he grew up in serves as a constant source of inspiration. His father's concrete production plant with all its machinery and cranes, the farms, the tractors , the sand pits, the nearby motorway and the River Donge . These all form the starting point for the products and autonomous works he designs
