Stop Making Sense

Mon 21 oct at Plan-B | Plan-B

During DDW 2019 Klaas Kuiken and Charley Reijnders present new work.

The presentation is a combination of individual work as well as a serie of cooperative work.

Stop Making Sense is a collection created by Klaas Kuiken and Charley Reijnders. The collection is a quest, contentless and one big statement. Annoying incomprehensible and one big statement. Plastic shit, immersion, deepthroaten, arsonist, capitalism, foxed food, punk, white bags, dirty mattresses, consumption society, stop making sense!

Klaas Kuiken will show a serie of glass experiments during DDW 2019. In the glass lab of Leerdam he developed a serie of glass objects by using casted iron molds. Styrofoam, turns into casted iron, casted iron turns into glass. Material translations.

The designs of Charley Reijnders define them selves it best as hybride design- an autonomous domain on the intersection of art, theatre and design. Personal fascinations are translated into layered images and objects. Habbo Hotel, Characters from an 14 century play, the slums of Calais: seemly unrelated topics, make cross-overs in conceptual collected work.

Studio Klaas Kuiken Product Design and Charley Reijnders are based in Arnhem. In their workshop at the IPKW they work on different projects with a broad scala of materials and techniques.
