RealiteitBureau

Takes the first step towards mutual understanding.

All week at Plan-B | Plan-B

RealiteitBureau is a meeting point between different groups of people, who mostly talk about each other, but not to each other. Our working method aims to connect these groups. Using short videos, we invite participants to ask each other questions about the other person's living environment.

RealiteitBureau is a meeting point between different groups of people, who mostly talk about each other, but not to each other. Our working method aims to connect these groups. Participants are allowed to ask each other anything, and receive a short video answer.

The project is all about curiosity. We present each participant with one simple question: "if you had the opportunity to ask a question to a person from the other group, what would you want to know?" We record this question using a selfie camera, which produces intimate and personal video material. Next step: showing this question to the person it addresses. In return, we record their answer in a short video.

During this process, participants come to realize that their worlds are not so far apart as they thought. The result is a collection of different individuals with their own story, which creates a new image of both groups. In this way, RealiteitBureau facilitates the first step towards mutual understanding.

RealiteitBureau

RealiteitBureau is a social design studio based in Utrecht. With our unique working method, we bring different groups of people in contact with each other. This connection is based on questions and answers through short videos. RealiteitBureau always works with large groups of participants, and equality is the foundation of every project.
