KLOKGEBOUW: IT’S YOUR WORLD

Plenty of space for future-oriented thinkers, dreamers and changers in the programme ‘It’s your World’. The special presentation of ideas and solutions is a preview of tomorrow’s world, and a showcase of what design can mean for us all. With ‘It’s your trash’, ‘It’s your health’, ‘It’s your industry’ and ‘It’s your neighbour’. ‘It’s your World’ is a DDW initiative, developed with support from Stichting Doen.

KETELHUISPLEIN: PEEPSHOW, HEYHEYDEHAAS, MUSIC

The Ketelhuisplein is as lively and wild as ever with the VPRO Peepshow, an installation that draws you into a disturbing virtual world. Young designers contemplate the energy consumption for the future in the CoLab Toon® Design Challenge, students from Sint Lucas hatch out new ideas and other young designers present work in the ABN AMRO hotspot (curated by Van Eijk & Van der Lubbe). Literally the highlight is the cooperation between HeyHeydeHaas with Morag Myerscough, and after 16:00 hours acts and bands take the stage for DDW Music.

VEEMGEBOUW: DDA, CREATIVE INDUSTRY, HANDS OFF, PLAYING LIFE

This new DDW location in Strijp-S has immediately emerged as a true hub. The Veemgebouw is accommodating the retrospective exhibition for the Dutch Design Awards finalists, In No Particular Order supported by Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie, Hands Off: New Dutch Design at the Confluence of Technology & Craft, three Playing Life exhibitions (about working with living materials), and many more beautiful things besides. MU

During DDW 2014 the MU attracted more than 35,000 visitors over the nine days. In 2015 the design studio KNOL is to study both individual and collective behaviour through a series of spatial interventions.
