Lex Hoefsloot is the winner of 'De Toekomstbouwers' 2018. On Saturday evening 27 October, he won the 'VPRO Toekomst Bouwdepot' (ed. building deposit) of €10,000 with his project Lightyear, a car entirely powered by solar energy. The jury, consisting of Martijn Paulen (director of the Dutch Design Foundation), Afaina de Jong (architect) and Koert van Mensvoort (artist and philosopher) considered Hoefsloot as the ultimate Toekomstbouwer (ed. Future Builder) because of its inventive solutions for the mobility issue.

The coronavirus is emerging in more and more places in Europe. Now that the virus has also been detected in several places in Italy, the organisation of the Salone del Mobile (furniture fair) in Milan has decided to move the fair to 16 - 21 June.
