Meet the ambassadors of #DDW18

Ravi Naidoo (Design Indaba), Laurens van den Acker (Renault) and Wendy Plomp (Dutch Invertuals) are the ambassadors of the 17th DDW. This year’s theme is: ‘If not us, then who?’ Almost everything in the world has been or is being designed and together we will decide what the world will look like. To strengthen this theme, the ambassadors deploy their network to create links, to function as a sounding board for participants and visitors, and to initiate special activities during the week. Curious about the stories behind our ambassadors? Read the following thee articles about who they are and how they will be present at DDW: Ravi Naidoo, Laurens van den Acker and Wendy Plomp.

DDW Live

DDW Live is the place where you will be surprised by inspirational speakers all week. The DDW Live stage is located in Hall1 in the Klokgebouw. Several times a day you can have a seat to enjoy lectures featuring young talent, talk shows such as Talk & Walk, where a different DDW-route is highlighted each day, DDW Live @ ED, where designer journalist Rob Schoonen shares his experiences, the Radical Imagination Talks from BankGiro Loterij Fonds and DDW Live @ 4. Discover DDW through different Design Routes

This year, a team of internal and external design experts composed special routes to make it easier for you to find your way through the design jungle that is DDW. For a complete overview of the routes, go here. The latest updates of the DDW programme can be found on the website 24/7. Our DDW Design Routes take you through the whole city, so make sure you arrange for suitable transport. Below you will find a number of options.

Getting around

All event locations are accessible by bike and public transport. If you prefer to go by car, use the electric Renault Design Rides. The design rides can be recognised by a design object on the roof. They will take you to and from every DDW venue for free. In addition, ABN AMRO bicycles can be rented at various locations and you can use the free Hop on Hop off bus to various DDW locations.
