To support the exhibition The pliable moment in De Fabriek, Eindhoven, LUCA School of Arts presents a special program on Thursday, October 27th with lectures, talks and the screening of a documentary in progress.

Prof Lut Pil will discuss the concept of 'the pliable moment' in the work of visual artist Sarah Westphal (° 1981, Wermelskirchen, Germany).

Prof. Anja Veirman en Tiécoura N’Daou will present the research project ‘Mudcloth and the making of social and artistic Fabric’, The interrelation between ritual, artistic and collective textile making departing from the Senufo context. (Burkina Faso, Mali) - (a LUCA Impuls project). Veirman combines art historical and anthropological approaches with research form a makers-perspective and works in collaboration with the Malinese multi media artists Tiécoura N’Daou and Seydou Cissé, and local partners and textile workshops in Burkina Faso. N’Daou and Veirman will show a first impression of the audiovisual materials they’re exploring to make a participatory documentary and an experimental video work. Their focus on the interrelation between artistic and social making processes brings up challenging questions about future design and globalization.
