A table and a dresser made with leftovers, recovery, from a door manufacturer. Presented for the first time during the Dutch Design Week 2016.
Each month, the factory disposes several containers full of leftovers: wood that will be burned to generate electricity. By taking into account the dimensions of the factory's leftovers in the design of the furniture, we make our furniture in a efficient way using wood which is still of high quality. By this way, we locally obtain our resources and prevent high quality material to go to waste, to be burned.
Recovery is the start of a collaboration between a designer and a timber trader. After the Dutch Design Week, we will expand the collection with additional furniture pieces and we will add work with leftovers from other timber factories.
