HEMA invited young designers to think about sustainable and social design. Ideas and products that make life more fun and easier, in a sustainable and social way.
The selected designers with the best ideas will work on October 22 together with the HEMA expert team to further develop their design. An idea that is not just for the designer and HEMA, but for everyone. That's what we call HEMA design daten ™.
Visitors of Dutch Design Week can follow the design process on 22 October at Ketelhuisplein and vote for the design of their preference. These public votes will be included in the jury's meeting. Subsequently, the designers present their final design and the two winners of HEMA design date 2017 will be announced.

Sustainable and socially responsible design is not just important to HEMA but to everyone. HEMA wants to encourage sustainable and socially-responsible design and make it accessible to all.
In HEMA's opinion, sustainability goes beyond the eventual product or the process leading up to its development. It offers solutions to a problem and sets changes in motion.
