Several special vocational schools in the Netherlands (Zwolle, Boxtel, Amsterdam, Rotterdam) have for decades been training their students to become creative craftspeople, restoration painters, milliners, woodworkers, piano makers or ceramicists. The workplaces in which these craftsmen and women work have changed. What does the workplace of 2017 look like? Do you only need a computer, or do you still need a physical space? Do craftspeople still work with their hands or are most things done by machine? And how are new technological developments combined with craftsmanship? Students from two schools, Cibap and SintLucas, will be presenting The New Workplace at HOW&WOW. Every day we will be featuring a different piece of work and explaining the technology, the design and the implementation involved in it. And of course there will be students at work!

For this location you need a DDW Ticket, a DDW Ticket offers you nine days of unlimited access to all DDW locations and DDW Music (except for the Specials).
