A distorted vase. A clumsy drawing. Swarovski crystals, a painting of a crying gypsy, the empty packing of your detergent and sparkling butterfly applications. Pretty or not so pretty? Who are we to judge?
Drents Dorp is an old Philips laborer district, resilient and independent, surrounded by designer hotspots Strijp S, R and T.
Drents Dorp makes its own Drents Dorp Design. Yes, we call it design, but in its own quirky way. Drents Dorp Design reflects the neighbourhood, the individual residents and all their quirks and preferences.
From laptopbag to coffee cup, from light source to tea towel, Drents Drop plays with the concept of beauty. Can something 'made with love' ever be ugly?
In the Drents Dorp Headquartes, designed by Piet Hein Eek, neighborhood residents present the results of Drents Dorp Design. In the nearby atomic shelter, residents throw a different persepctive on the abundance of waste in their neighbourhood.
