By experimenting with variety of ashes, Daria Biryukova continues her research project on ceramic glazes. She was inspired by traditional recipes from the Middle East and extended this knowledge with experiments on mineral waste provided by Van Gansewinkel minerals. Forz granules are produced from specially selected and processed mineral residues, released during combustion processes and separation of household waste. It is a sustainable product that has been already used in concrete industry and civil engineering as directly usable alternative for sand and gravel. Daria Biryukova invented FORZ Glaze recipes – third application of FORZ, which is now in process of patent acquisition. FORZ Glaze is applied on tiles and on stoneware pottery and then baked at a high temperature to create a strong glaze layer. FORZ Glaze has a potential to become a sustainable product for ceramic industries in the Netherlands and global. The work on future implementation of FORZ Glaze in ceramic mass production carried out by Daria Biryukova, will be shown during DDW 2017 at YksiExpo.

Part of her education in University of Applied Arts in Vienna did Daria Biryukova at the Design Academy Eindhoven. Meanwhile she lives and works in Eindhoven. Biryukovadesign is a design alchemy studio, by visiting local craftsmen and factories in various countries and experimenting with traditional materials, shapes, colors and textures, Daria set her own ingredients for the sustainable concepts.
