The National Glass Museum (in Leerdam) is as much a treasury for glass as it is a studio. The place where arts and crafts meet, when glass is concerned.
At Dutch Design Week some of our best glass blowers will be present to demonstrate their work methods, how they handle the hot material and they will explain how they collaborate with designers and artists. The work designer Christien Meindertsma id for our event ' Cities of Glass' this Summer will be highlighted and on display for you to see. She where she researched the possibilities of working with glass and will continue to do so in the near future.

Historical and narrative-based exhibitions take you back in time. Contemporary and experimental exhibitions reveal the future of glass art.
The Glass Studio is also a creative Glass Lab, inviting a variety of artists and designers with backgrounds in various disciplines to experiment with glass. This results in the most unexpected and extraordinary creations and leads to the discovery of new talent. You might even see a well-known fashion designer working together with the glassblowers!
A visit to the National Glass Museum will change the way you look at glass.
