‘Replex’ by design agency Oormerk consists of old, often much-loved furniture that became available because of a move or a death. This is in line with the growing need for authenticity, often found in familiar and recognizable materials. This high-quality material is extremely sustainable and is an almost personal raw material full of
tradition, craft, smells and even memories. At the same time, ‘Replex’ has a clean slate and is suited to completely new uses.
In its pure form, or filled with special materials, ‘Replex’ is turned into new furniture, panels or products.

Curator: Van Eijk & Van der Lubbe
Organized by ABN AMRO
As main sponsor, ABN AMRO wants to give young designers a stage – literally. To this end, the bank has teamed up with Van Eijk & Van der Lubbe and set up six ABN AMRO Hotspots at Strijp S (in front of Klokgebouw on Philitelaan), where designers will be able to present themselves. A permanent platform has been designed for the central lobby of ABN AMRO’s office on Vestdijk, also in Eindhoven. The giant, one-metre high wing nut that adorns the hotspots symbolises the joining of forces and setting things in motion, which ties in nicely with the goals of the hotspots: bringing young, talented designers into contact with other parties.
