“Conscious Creativity” showcases the innovative works of five young international designers. Their diverse projects are unified in the thoughtful dialogue and approach to technology & craft, local & global impact and analogue vs. smart. In essence it explores consciousness through a broad design language and demonstrates current talent.

Using our creative energy we construct a tangible vision of our future society. Furthermore we look into how we can encourage individual responsiveness to and responsibility for our surroundings.

Polimeer :

We craft plastic - a selection of circular design stories that empower communities to contribute to the design of their future city, through the recycling of plastic with local communities. The focus is on the design process and material experimentation, the outcome varies from coins to façade tiles.

Imagination of Things :

Design fiction methodology that can be used in creative agencies and student groups, as a corporate intervention, and as a radical problem-solving device for communities and cities. The methodology is a game-like workshop, where participants role-play as fictional characters inside a fictional world, letting loose their imaginations to ideate critical and disruptive ideas without the constraints of reality or the status quo.

S.E.T.:

Since the dawn of our existence, we’ve looked up at the night sky to find patterns and purpose to the stars. That inspired Atmospheric Wood, an experimental research project that explores unconventional treatment for wooden surfaces, exposing and celebrating them with immersive atmospheric patterns and tonalities.

Duncan Gidney:

Quartet is a data driven musical instrument. When bikes pass over a bridge, a wireless signal is sent to the instrument, triggering a specific note. Quartet provides a way to hear the music of the city, allowing people to play the city and hear their contributions in real time.

Noktuku:

Will present design objects containing real moss, items which question the value of our time perception and the coexistence of man-made gadgets and nature.

Organized by Conscious Creativity

We are an Amsterdam-based collective of designers, entrepreneurs, inventors, technologists, makers and creators. We aim to inspire and expand the horizon of the creative industry and go beyond the boundaries between disciplines, inventing and implementing efficient and sustainable processes to envision and forecast the built environment of the future. With our interdisciplinary and system-thinking approach we aim to stretch design boundaries.

Polimeer :

We close the loop of communities and businesses with innovative services and product hybrids. The city is our playground for experimentation, and source of inspiration. We design to create impactful solutions for social inclusion and sustainable urban development.

Imagination of Things :

We are a creative duo that uses narrative design and technology in a quest to unlock joy and relevance. We are storytellers, inventors, and magicians. We create artefacts and experiences to explore new possibilities for our reality.

Duncan Gidney:

Is an Amsterdam based Canadian designer, working at the intersection of play, electronics and visual minimalism. His projects use photography, music and games in new and exciting ways.

Noktuku:

Is a Design studio for sustainable luxury, and will present objects containing real moss, everyday objects like a clock or a phone holder, yet poetic and timeless.

S.E.T. :

Focuses on researching innovative experimental treatments for domestic surfaces to expose and celebrate natural materials in furniture, interiors and spatial concepts.
