Exhibition organized by Buxkin

Alissa + Nienke is a material research and design studio with a unique interpretation of surface design. For the first time, they show a total overview of their work: their inspiration, experiments, and end results ranging from special edition wallcoverings for Christian Dior to fences for Lowlands. Showing materials that trigger curiosity and interaction, they provide an insight in their world of combining extensive material experimentation with the simple mission to put human experience at the centre of their work.

During the DDW 2017 the recycled leather cut-out Panel by Alissa + Nienke will be shown; strips are in development.

Wilma Dijkgraaf grew up on the Veluwe, a woodland region of the Netherlands. She always was fascinated by nature and natural elements. After studying marketing & graphic design, she made her entrance into the world of contemporary design in the ‘90’s, at the Swiss textile company Ruckstuhl, where she met her current business partner Jan Veldhoen.

After his training as a cabinet-maker, Jan Veldhoen started his work at an interior architect. As a designer he came into contact with special materials and products and textiles in particular became his passion. After a period as representative for Kvadrat and Ruckstuhl carpets, together with Wilma Dijkgraaf he founded the company Buxkin . In this company they both share their passion for green materials and innovation.
