What's your DNA? is an exhibition showcasing 9 design studios in various fields that are all based in the southern Swedish region of Skåne. It aims to portray the local growing atmosphere around contemporary art and design. The group as a whole is a mix of different disciplines within design; fashion designers, industrial designers, artists and creators. To show a variety of work when it comes to different input, profiles, perspective, techniques, materials, genres and taste. All of which are presented under a joint venture that values the particularity of each work. In an endeavour to show the voice, desires and efforts of some of the best individual designers and studios working in southern Sweden right now.
This exhibition highlights the mix and rewards the different. And brings forward a group made up by diverse personalities and genres forming a larger regional identity - the southern Swedish design DNA. This is people that create their own possibilities by being bold, single-minded and true to themselves with an underdog perspective and a strong conviction that everything is possible.

Curator and exhibition architect for the exhibition is Kajsa Willner. After studying furniture and industrial design in Italy she lived and worked in Eindhoven for a few years, doing an internship for French designer Julien Carretero at design collective Atelier dorp and working for Dutch interior design brand JSPR among other things. Returning to Sweden in 2011 she now runs her own design studio in Malmö. She is very excited to return to Eindhoven and bring with her the best of what southern Swedish design has to offer right now.
The exhibition is sponsored by Southern Sweden Creatives; a 3-year project supporting small and medium-sized companies from the cultural and creative industries to grow internationally through international exposure, professional business development and national coordination. The project focuses on southern Swedish companies working primarily with design, film, digital games and digital media.
Southern Sweden Creatives is carried out by Invest in Skåne, together with Region Skåne, The City of Malmö, Southern Sweden Film Commission, Form/Design Center, The City of Helsingborg, Media Evolution, NetPort Science Park and The Creative Plot/The City of Lund. The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.
