Under the title In No Particular Order, Creative Industries Fund NL is presenting the new group of designers, artists and architects who have received a Talent Development stipend over the previous year. Collectively a statement is made about the contemporary design practice in nine installations on show at the Van Abbe Museum.
Another side of design practice
All of the 33 participating designers provided input with conceptual as well as physical contributions such as sketches, prototypes and sources of inspiration. Van den Langenberg then invited nine progressive thinkers and makers from various fields to produce an installation based on these collections. The exhibition’s curator deliberately sought a museum context for the presentation: ‘Instead of showing completed projects or finished products by designers, in the cellar of the Van Abbe Museum we are showing another side of design practice.’
Reflections on design practice
Every day from 11:00am to 12:30pm there are meetings in the exhibition space, at which the participating designers, professionals from the field and other interested parties will enter into discussion about one of the exhibition’s nine themes.

Organized by Stimuleringsfonds
Creative Industries Fund NL is the cultural fund for architecture, design and digital culture, as well as every imaginable crossover. The Fund strives to make a substantive contribution to the quality of professional design practice by offering practical and financial support to designers, makers and institutions involved in the creative industries.
The Talent Development Programme
Talent development is one of Creative Industries Fund NL’s key objectives. Every year an independent committee selects 30 or so highly promising designers/makers for a 12-month stipend of €25,000. To be eligible for this grant the designers must have graduated within the last four years. They are active within the diverse disciplines of the creative industries, from fashion design to graphic design, from architecture to digital culture. The stipend and accompanying programme are intended to foster the artistic and professional development of these individuals over a 12-month period. Since 2014 the Fund has been showcasing the programme and the participants during Dutch Design Week. Further information: Talent Development Programme.
