With the design talk show Future Series Dutch Design Foundation, the organisation behind Dutch Design Week, presents inspiring projects and promising design perspectives throughout the year. For this ninth edition a special programme is created together with partners Pakhuis de Zwijger en De Volkskrant. This edition, with Start-ups in Design as its theme, will zoom in on how design can make a difference when starting a business. How does one go from creative concept to business model? How can design add value to a company? And can design-thinking help organise a start-up?

Programme
Key note speaker is Floris Schoonderbeek (known for his design label Weltevree and the Dutchtub), designer of the lolo: the charging system for electric cars. During his key note speech on December 1, Floris Schoonderbeek will explain how designers can add value to a start-up by means of product developing and design thinking. Moreover, he invites three inspirational speakers that fit within the theme: StoneCycling, who have successfully entered the architecture and construction business with their ‘WasteBasedBricks’ start-up, Marjan van Aubel, who integrates solar technology in daily objects and won an innovation prize with her company Caventou, and founder of several start-ups (amongst which NewMotion) Alef Arendsen, who will share his vision as investor and entrepreneur on the role designers can have for start-ups.
